Nature is always in motion; sometimes recognisable, sometimes subtle, sometimes veiled and invisible to the eye. The sun moves, clouds move, leaves and branches move with the wind. And while a tree trunk appears to be static on the surface, all kinds of movement is taking place inside of it to nourish all its branches and leaves.
The same applies to us.
Even in moments when we are standing still and seem to be suspended and motionless, movement is taking place inside of us. Our heart is beating, our blood is flowing. To be in movement is our natural state.
Whilst our internal movements occur autonomously, they are in turn dependent on our intentional physical movements. Nature is always in motion, but to a considerable extent we human beings possess the willpower and have the ability to consciously decide to move physically. We can stand still in the wind when the branches and leaves of a tree would be compelled to move. Nature knows how to move. Our movements are shaped by the way we grow up, by our way of life, by the lessons we have learnt, through out conscious and subconscious habits, … Nevertheless, we human beings are a part of nature, so there is perhaps also a natural way of moving, unaffected by constraints dictated by our personal history and modern way of life.
